I have used AAA trip-tics, and they are helpful. We've moved away from the paper routing options for now, utilizing GPS and Google Earth etc., Still not perfect but helpful :) I do find the information you get is only as good as the questions you ask - same thing with planning a road trip.

Some time when you are mapquesting a destination, go to AAA. and print out their directions. You will find that they are more accuarate than mapquest. Too many times mapquest does not have you get off on the correct exit. And like you towing 50+ ft. combined, you can't just make a u-ie. I found AAA to be better.
Compare the two for yourself next time.
              Love you's

I see too many close calls because of people relying on their GPS. I always preview the route so I don't have any last minute lane changes. I like to be in the proper lane at least one mile ahead of time.

It is ironic the the GPS in my truck has a female voice, but the one I put in Ellen's car is male.

Not all GPSs are created equal. Some do not know the difference between a major highway and rural road. Even the two units I have (both made by Pioneer) route differently. It is still best to pull out the Thomas Guide and preview the trip.
